i'm ballin' through the recession RSS

"i was totally astral-traveling. i had the most enlightening, loving feeling. i specifically remember being in outer space, looking down on planets and stuff... right when she touched my penis to take [the catheter] out, i bolted up and projectile-vomited on everybody in the room. it looked like sangria. it was like, 24 PBRs and a gallon of crown royal and fruit. then i was done; i was out of the coma. i had lost weight - i looked great."

last weekend i attended the Organization of Labor Assistants for Birth Options & Resources Doula Training seminar in dallas. suffice to say, it was an inspiring and eye-opening experience, and as a result i intend to start using this blog as a place to chronicle some of the current birth facts/statistics that i find particularly interesting.
i’ll start with a simple acronym: VBAC. this stands for vaginal birth after cesarean, a practice which used to be seen as very dangerous - but has since been proven to be significantly less risky than multiple cesarean births. i was a VBAC baby - 10 pounds 10 ounces, born safely and without complication. and that is very literally where this all started for me.
